Tree and shrub maintenance
Ottawa Canopy Tree Service has trained, professional tree climbers and crane operators experienced in the cutting and removal of selected limbs to improve shape, structure and to reduce hazards within the crown of the tree. Proper pruning is recommended and is important for a variety of reasons:
- Dead wood, weaker and structurally poor limbs that pose a hazard or may lead to wood decay
- Crisscrossing limbs that rub causing structural defects and failure
- Limbs to provide clearance for utility wires, buildings, shingles, gutters, roofs, chimneys, windows and elevation for driveways, streets or sidewalks
- Diseased or insect-infested limbs
- Selected limbs to improve structure and reduce wind resistance and the potential for failure
- Removal of limbs to improve structure and reduce wind resistance and the potential for failure
- Selected branches to increase light penetration onto lawns gardens or to promote interior crown health and growth
- Reduction of branches to increase light penetration onto lawns gardens or to promote interior crown health and growth
- Selected limbs to improve views of lakes, hillsides, lawns or other required lines of site
- Elimination of branches to improve views of lakes, hillsides, lawns or other required lines of site
